How to read peptide research (without the hype)

Reading peptide research well comes down to a few habits: check whether a claim is backed by a human trial or just a proposed mechanism, look at how many people were studied, separate what a study found from what a marketer says it means, and never trust a number that doesn't cite its source. Those habits filter out most of the hype.

Mechanism is not proof

A 'proposed mechanism' explains how something might work in theory. That's useful context, but it is not evidence that it works in people. Many compounds have elegant mechanisms and thin human data. Always ask: has this been tested in a human trial, or is this a hypothesis?

Trial size and scale

A finding from 2,500 participants carries different weight than one from 8. Enrollment size shows scale — not proof, but scale. When you see a claim, look for the named trial and how many people it studied.

Findings vs. interpretation

A study reports what happened. A headline tells you what to think about it. Keep them separate. The most reliable pages state the finding plainly and let you judge the interpretation.

The citation test

The fastest filter in the whole space: if a claim, a percentage, or a trial name isn't linked to a source you can open, treat it as unverified. Real evidence is verifiable by design.
